[faq] How do I transfer disclaimers from one server to another?

mxClaim disclaimer settings can be transferred from one server to another by following the steps below:

1. Open a Command Prompt on the server you want to transfer settings from
2. Export the settings from the registry using:
   regedit /e settings.reg "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\mxClaim\Disclaimers" (press enter)
   This will create a file called settings.reg in the current folder containing your plain text and HTML disclaimers as well as your disclaimer rules
3. Copy the settings.reg file to the server you want to transfer settings to
4. Ensure the mxClaim configuration tool is not running on the server you want to transfer settings to
5. Open a Command Prompt on the server you want to transfer settings from
6. Change to the folder where you copied the settings.reg file in step 3
7. Import the settings to the registry using:
   regedit /s settings.reg (press enter)
   Note: existing plain text and HTML disclaimers and disclaimer rules will not be overwritten

You should then be able to start the mxClaim configuration tool to manage the disclaimers.
