[problem] Why is the event sink not shown in the Sink Management tool?

When attempting to register the mxClaim event sink using the Sink Management tool, the list of event sinks in the Register Event Sink dialog box does not contain an entry for 'mxClaim 3' (see screenshot below).

To solve this problem it is necessary to check that the mxClaim event sink has been correctly registered and the login credentials it is using are correct. The most common cause of this problem is incorrect login credentials.

Follow the steps below to check that the event sink is correctly registered and the login credentials are correct:

  1. Open Component Services (Start menu - Settings - Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Component services)
  2. Navigate to the mxClaim COM+ Application (Component Services - Computers - My Computer - COM+ Applications - mxClaim)
  3. Right click on mxClaim and select Properties
  4. Go to the Identity tab
  5. Ensure the 'This user' option is selected and re-enter the user and password information to use (note: the user account that mxClaim uses must have Administrative rights)
  6. Click OK
  7. Navigate to the Components (under the mxClaim application node from step 2)
  8. You should see the mxClaimSink.cSMTPSink component (see the screenshot)

If you were able to complete the above steps re-load the Sink Management tool and see if mxClaim is now listed in the Event sink list. If you were unable to complete any of the above steps or the event sink is still not listed in the Sink Management tool, please contact us for additional support.
